6 April – Puerto Natales
We should have been starting a 4 day cruise through the Chilean Fjords today but storms have delayed the ship by at least 24 hours. We were also caught in the storm yesterday when we should have been bushcamping. The winds and snow were so bad that we drove on for over 1oo miles until we found a hotel. The hotel had 17 beds so camping was avoided (much to our relief). Earlier in the day we had had to wait 2 hours to cross the Magellan Straits because the ferry was unable to deal with the winds.
We certainly have seen some different weathers on this trip. It is currently blowing a gale with heavy rains but we have found a hostel for the night. We shall see what tomorrow brings!!!!
